Provides technical leadership for complex and/or non-standard research, development, and/or performance testing activities to meet stated technology objectives. Performs assigned projects under the supervision of a senior R&D team member or leader though may conduct independent studies, manage projects, and work on large/complex projects. Regularly work with team members from across product areas and departments.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE MINIMUMS:
Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (or other relevant science field).
Thorough knowledge and understanding of applicable chemistry and/or engineering principles and application in a research and development environment typically acquired after at least 5 years of relevant industrial or academic experience.
Demonstrated capabilities in quantitative assessment using tools such as statistics, computational chemistry, multiphysics based simulation or engineering modeling applied to chemical and physical systems.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
PhD in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (or other relevant science field).
The preferred applicant should have experience in the areas of
- surface science/ chemistry, molecular interactions or interactions of fluids and surfaces.
- rheological properties of fluids
