The IT Generalist role will provide a wide range of support and customer service on various hardware and software issues in a chemical manufacturing environment.
Responsible for all local IT leadership and service. Provide hands on services and support while managing another IT onsite supporter. Must be adaptable to changing priorities, processes and projects while maintaining excellence in day-to-day activities. Must possess the ability to process knowledge quickly and put to practical use. Will interact as a conduit between business activities and IT leadership. Will work to align, document, and improve processes. Must be able to work independently to problem solve and manage escalations.

Monitor the automotive mechanical tests in assigned area (including bench and/or rig testing), record all pertinent data, make necessary adjustments/repairs to assure that test parameters, methods and procedures are met and report problems to appropriate party.

JOB SUMMARY: As a Programmer-Analyst, you will work closely with senior IT staff to plan and implement adapted technologies, approved modifications, and process enhancements for our existing systems. You will interface with internal customers to identify business solutions and determine appropriate interfaces and links between NewMarket's existing systems. Your role will also involve learning and automating analytical laboratory instrument interfaces, troubleshooting non-homogenous environments and programming languages, and generating reports using tools like Crystal Reports and SSRS.
Based on established guidelines and procedures, perform routine laboratory procedures to test the quality of raw material, in-process and finished products. Perform maintenance and safety checks on laboratory equipment to ensure good working condition. Relies on his experience and judgment to plan, strategize and accomplish goals on time.
The objective of this technical service role is to manage 1) relationships with technical/sales/marketing personnel and 2) technical activities in order to retain existing Afton aftermarket and first fill positions with local customers and OEMs who manufacture transmission fluid and transmissions in China. In this role, he or she will consult with Marketing and support the Sales Force and OEM Relationship Managers who are responsible for the pertinent local customers and OEMs. This is a customer and OEM-facing role with a strong emphasis on providing support and technical assistance in a highly coordinated manner.
As a member of a shift team, operate and monitor the chemical production activities in the plant and ensuring that the product is manufactured within set production schedule and to the required standards of quality and cost effective manner. Troubleshoot and resolves technical problem when necessary.
Responsible for overall safe operations and security of plant during off shift hours, week-ends, holidays, and for keeping plant operative through safe effective use of work force.
Lead and direct the maintenance department’s mechanical maintenance and reliability initiatives. Provide technical assistance to the maintenance department and be the maintenance liaison with plant engineering and operations. Lead predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
