  • Overview

    Develop opportunities, manage relationships, and drive the broader Afton team to win or retain first fill and service fill genuine part oil supply positions at CPV OEMs.  Position Afton as preferred additive supplier ensuring commercial value is forthcoming from these relationships (e.g. factory fill position, service fill approvals etc)



    1. Develop a clear strategy for targeted CPV OEMs and lead implementation of the Strategic Account Plan (see Item 2) ensuring all Afton internal stakeholders are engaged.
      • For new opportunities, lead the project from inception through validation and commercialization
      • For existing OEM first fill business:
        • Lead regional activity to assure Afton maintains such positions
        • Coordinate globally where needed to maintain seamless interface with Afton OEM activities in other regions
      • Defer overall relationship management for foreign (non-China) OEMs to Afton’s OEM Relationship manager who has primary responsibility
      • Manage field tests in support of gaining first fill positions, if requested
    2. Develop and lead the implementation of OEM Strategic Account Plans
    3. Develop multi-level, cross-function relationships with each CPV OEM including decision makers and influencers and establish or maintain Afton’s position as  additive technology supplier of choice for factory fill and genuine part oil service fill applications   
    4. Keep all stakeholders up-to-date on all OEM activities
    5. Maintain strong background in R&D technologies and wider industry trends and market insights relevant to Passenger Vehicles and represent these views internally and externally.

    6. Build insights gleaned from discovery with each CPV OEM and utilize these to commercialize solutions from Afton products/services or from new product development opportunities both in China and in markets where the CPV sells its products.

    7. Influence the development of new or changes to existing CPV OEM lubricant specifications to ensure that Afton is in a unique or highly competitive position; Gain OEM approvals for Afton additive technology and/or finished fluids for Afton’s oil company customers.

    8. Be an integral member of Afton’s AP PV team working closely with Marketing, Sales and Customer Technical Services and with wider organization including Global Business team ensuring strong teamwork and robust contribution.



    • BS degree
    • 10+ years relevant work experience
    • 7+ years’ experience in the petrochemical or OEM industry
    • 5+ years of sales & marketing experience



    • 12+ years relevant work experience
    • Proven track record in OEM First Fill and Service Fill opportunities
    • MBA
