  • Overview

    Responsible for the development and management of daily work plans as well as assigning and directing contract employees in the construction, operations, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground infrastructure. 

     



    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions

    • Coordinates activities with engineering disciplines, maintenance, operations, the project manager, and outside contractors.
    • Accountable for ensuring that all projects follow Afton’s safety procedures and permitting requirements.
    • Maintains records of work performed, project charge codes, and hours worked by all construction trades.
    • Ensures that all contractors are executing the project per the approved drawings, scope of work, and Afton’s specifications.
    • Ensures that the construction on projects progresses on time and on budget.
    • Plans for and schedules the delivery of materials and labor required by the contractors and updates the project plan via a detailed construction schedule.
    • Participates in the negotiating and analysis of all bid packages on a project.
    • Develops a strategy for the projects on hand as well as future projects.
    • Supports the project manager in scheduling work to be done in the field.
    • Monitors construction progress to keep account of construction expenditures and develops construction cost and schedule forecasts.
    • Prepares construction progress review updates for inclusion in the project status updates.
    • Identify and report any potential deviations in the field to the project manager in a timely fashion.

    Qualifications

    Education :

    • Construction Management degree preferred or technical degree

    Experience :

    • 5 to 15 years Construction coordination/management
    • Petrochemical industry
    • 5+ years Capital Project management
    • Experience in forecasting and resource scheduling

    Computer Skills

    Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Primavera

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Typically climate controlled office environment located in a plant setting.
