Overview

Afton Chemical Corporation develops and manufactures petroleum additives that help fuels burn cleaner and more efficiently, engines run smoother, and machines last longer. Afton is seeking a controls systems developer for our Technical Services Department located near Saint Louis, Missouri. Candidate must work effectively in a manufacturing environment within a team. Creative problem solving troubleshooting skills as well as good communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and management for OSI PI data historian. Manage network and hardware performance.
  • Develop updates/edits to OSI PI system to meet needs of operation groups.
  • Develop and support manufacturing reporting using SQL and SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services).
  • Provide advising role within the Controls group.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering (four-year college or university), preferably in Chemical or Electrical Engineering
  • Ten plus years’ work experience in Chemical/Petro Chemical/Manufacturing industrial environment
  • Minimum five years in Control Systems, Process Control, or data historian role
  • Experience with data historian
  • Working knowledge of DCS/PLC configuration
  • Experience with Databases (SQL Server and MS Access) and Networking
  • Working knowledge of batch application and standards (ISA 88)
  • Some travel can be expected (10-20%).  Position is first shift (flexible hours) and maybe occasional shift coverage during project startup (typically 2-5 days)
