Facilities Supervisor

Overview

              We are keen to find someone with multi-discipline experience within a corporate facilities environment, ideally with lab or plant knowledge.

 

Summary:-

Directs and oversees all maintenance activities and projects undertaken by the facilities team, assuring safe, efficient and proper completion of all tasks. Ensures all necessary resources are available to the team for active and prospective projects. This is a hands-on role and is expected to be split 30/70% office / field-based activities.

2nd interviews:-       18th/19th March       Up to 1.5 hours on site with the Facilities Team and HR, plus technical assessment

 

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Report to Facilities Manager on a weekly basis with updates pertaining to facilities maintenance and on-going projects.

 

  1. Know, understand and adhere to established company policies and procedures. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of changes to safety procedures and assist in safety training activities as required.

 

  1. Ensure all departmental tools and equipment are well maintained to ensure safe and proper function.

 

  1. Supervise the development and implementation of planned preventative maintenance program covering, plant equipment, systems and general facilities across the site. Assure all relevant records are accurately completed and retained.  

 

  1. Oversee the completion of adjustments, repairs, and modifications to existing equipment and systems. Oversee the installation of new equipment and systems as necessary recommending and/or selecting outside contractors as necessary. Monitor and direct external contractor activities to ensure safety, quality and timely completion of work.

 

  1. Assure adequate stock levels to support maintenance functions, in particular the identification and ordering of critical spares. Order all parts, components, assemblies and general materials needed to complete activities.

 

  1. Consult and work with engineering consultants regarding facility and systems revisions or new design.

  2. Assure that technical drawings and schematics are readily available and appropriately updated following any amendments or new construction works.

  3. Coordinate and oversee completion of mechanical and general building equipment repairs and services in response to employee generated maintenance requests.

  4. Train operators and other personnel on facilities systems as necessary to allow them to act in a knowledgeable manner in emergency situations when facilities maintenance personnel are unavailable.

  5. Assign maintenance requests to designated technicians for optimal completion of all tasks.

  6. Mentor the Maintenance team and develop systems to ensure ongoing process improvement.

  7. Participate in the call-out rota, one in every three weeks.

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE MINIMUMS:

           

  • Degree in engineering, maintenance, or related field
  • Demonstrated understanding of electrical, mechanical and technical aspects of building maintenance typically acquired over a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, or related field
  • Technical certifications/training (PASMA, IPAF, L8, Asbestos Awareness, Confined Spaces)
  • Knowledge of gas safe legislation and procedures
