Overview

Afton Chemical Corporation is part of the NewMarket Corporation (NYSE: NEU) family of companies, and is one of the largest global suppliers of lubricant additives and offers a broad line of fuel additives worldwide. 

 

The Supply Operations Coordinator will be responsible for managing the relationship and contracted activities of 3rd party sites that are tolling, packaging, and warehousing for Afton Chemical.  Position will oversee and provide guidance on all relevant activities such as bulk production, bulk replenishment for packaging, raw material ordering, delivery creation, shipment creation, transportation tendering, domestic and export processes to ensure timely production to meet orders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage relationship and oversee all contracted activities of 3rd party sites (tolling, packaging, warehousing).
  • Complete SAP transactions for sites not utilizing Afton’s system or provide guidance/training for sites that are on Afton’s SAP system.  This includes bulk production, replenishment orders, raw material ordering, delivery creation, shipment creation, transportation tendering, domestic and export processes.
  • Liaise with 3rd party sites, planning, procurement, transportation, process development, EHS and other areas within Afton to ensure timely production to meet orders. 
  • Provide guidance to 3rd party sites on Afton’s processes and procedures as they relate to the site contract activities (such as Air Shipment Policy and Procedures, Labeling Protocols, C/A creation etc.).
  • Conduct monthly/quarterly physical inventory counts and work with Afton Finance for reconciliation. 
  • Audit invoices from 3rd party providers for accuracy and provide accounting with appropriate codes to ensure timely payment.  Review cost center spend for accuracy. 
  • Responsible for gathering and entering meaningful root cause and corrective action analysis on 3rd party ReSOLV cases in a timely manner. 
  • Support 3rd party providers in troubleshooting problems encountered during SAP processing (e.g. post goods receiving, inter-plant transfers, production order) and ensure service providers update SAP timely and accurately. 

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE MINIMUMS:

  • BS degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

  • Demonstrated understanding of the customer relationship and supply function typically acquired through a few years of experience in a similar role. 

For NewMarket, Afton or Ethyl employees, an appropriate combination of experiences that will support the required skill base may replace one or more of the specific experience requirements above.
