Overview

This data engineering position will require a collaborative leader skilled in building data pipelines, engineering complex data sets and querying databases utilizing tools for structured and unstructured data. Commitment to data integrity, the capability to solve highly analytical problems, and the ability to work on multiple projects at once are critical for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, document, and test advanced data systems that integrate data from structured and unstructured sources using multiple programming languages (i.e. Python, R, SQL)
  • Create data pipelines using industry standard practices and adhering to Data Governance policies to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality
  • Capture and document technical information for data flows and database design
  • Partner with multiple stakeholders including clients, new product development, data analysts to develop scalable solutions
  • Support operations by identifying, researching and resolving performance and production issues
  • Participate in requirements gathering and transforming business requirements into technical specifications

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE MINIMUMS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or related field of study
  • 3+ years of experience working in a Data Engineering role or building and maintaining data solutions
  • 2+ years in-depth SQL experience
  • Extensive experience utilizing Python for production-level data development
  • Experience with data modeling and data design utilizing SDLC methodology 

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

  • Masters degree in computer science, software engineering or related field of study
  • 5+ years in-depth experience utilizing both SQL and Python
  • 2+ year experience with Microsoft Data Tools (Visual Studio, SSMS, SSIS, Azure DevOps for CI/CD)
  • Experience with business analytics tools such as Tableau/Shiny/R
  • Automotive, chemistry/chemical, or petroleum additive related academic background or work experience
