Overview

Afton Chemical Corporation is part of the NewMarket Corporation (NYSE: NEU) family of companies, and is one of the largest global suppliers of lubricant additives and offers a broad line of fuel additives worldwide. 

 

The Logistics Analyst will provide analytical support for all logistics functions (customer service, transportation, and supply operations) for the Americas. This will include creating and tracking metrics, independent analytical investigations, optimization, and project management. The analyst will work independently and as part of the larger logistics team to drive problem resolution and increase customer satisfaction. This position is a temporary role. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Create and communicate transportation tracking reports to ensure high level visibility into the supply chain
  • Ensure that information gaps within the supply chain are closed through vigorous follow up with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Analyze transportation, warehousing, and packaging spend
  • Maintain weekly and monthly metrics and provide insight into gaps
  • Ensure that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) are fully documented and reviewed for effectiveness
  • Perform independent analysis of supply chain problems and provide logical and executable options for improvement
  • Provide insight on business improvement opportunities – such as cost savings, capacity maximization, process optimization, and increased customer satisfaction
  • Create ad hoc reporting and analysis in support of the North America Supply Team

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE MINIMUMS:

  • BS degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

EDUCATION & SXPERIENCE PREFERRED: 

  • BS degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, or similar field
  • Some experience in a Supply function

  • Demonstrate flexibility in problem solving
  • Basic knowledge of transportation modes and logistics processes
  • Knowledge of basic accounting procedures
  • Ability to learn new computer systems
  • Organize and prioritize work and projects effectively
