Overview

Support and lead all aspects of plant environmental compliance, employee health programs, and employee safety processes. The main focus of this position is to ensure regulatory compliance while building and sustaining a perpetual EHS culture where employees are involved in job/task design and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Appraise and manage environmental risk in order to guarantee personnel safety, occupational health, and environmental protection.
  • Raise emloyee awareness to ensure that EHS measures are applied at every level of the organization.
  • Ensure required records, permits, and reports are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines by local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Identify hazardous workplace conditions, perform and document job hazard analysis, and coordinate activities to ensure corrective and preventative actions are implemented.
  • Develop training programs and manage all EHS related reports relating to all safety issues in the plant for employees and visitors. 
  • Process Safety Management (PSM):  Be a leading force in the site’s PSM systems with a strong working knowledge of OSHA 1910 Process Safety Management standard. 
  • Works to create a culture that puts safety first, promotes interest in, and awareness of health, safety, and environmental issues at all levels. 
  • Performs administrative functions and provides support for projects as needed.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications(minimum):

  • BS degree in related environmental, health or safety field.
  • 5 - 7 years of safety related management, with exposure to environmental regulatory management.
  • Professional certification in safety, industrial hygiene or environmental engineering preferred.
  • Contractor Management System experience; preferably using the ISNetwork system

Job Qualifications (preferred)

  • 7 – 10 years of safety related management, with exposure to environmental regulatory management
  • Familiarity with occupational health medical treatment terminology
  • Familiarity with chemistry and chemical processes
