This is a unique opportunity to join our finance team. It is a small team and there will be great opportunity to influence. Cross functional contact with other functions including sales, purchasing, logistics, FP&A and credit with a collaborative and business partnering approach.
This will cover all of EMEAI and it’s entities and there is global involvement for some projects.
The role is based in our Bracknell HQ with bright and modern offices and state of the art laboratories. There is on site secure and free car parking.
The role is 35 hours per week with the option to finish at 2:30pm on Fridays

Supporting and assisting the Regional Controller for EMEAI.Supervising a team of 8 (4 directs) and managing a wide range of Accounting, Reporting and business partnering functions in accordance with US GAAP, FRS 101 and company policies and SOX requirements for the EMEAI region.
To be responsible for the full accounting and reporting functions of assigned EMEAI entities, which includes crucial business processes for the main trading entity in EMEAI, together with monthly/quarterly and annual reporting responsibilities for EMEAI wide statutory entities.
The role also includes business processes for:
Manage the day to day relationship with internal and external auditors.
To drive performance in the team to meet deadlines, serve customers and work efficiently.
To manage the delivery of statutory accounts for 3 UK companies.
To drive an effective control environment; one that achieves SOX compliance through efficient processes.
To complete Finance projects and initiatives as necessary.
Manage the relationship with actuaries and prepare ERP pension postings for US GAAP and UK GAAP.
Manage Lease accounting for the UK on a US GAAP basis every month, liaising with the business quarterly for any embedded leases, and annually the UK GAAP basis.
Partnering with R&D/CTS/Sales to ensure customers and agents receive payments or credits in a timely manner and balances are recorded accurately at period ends.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Degree in Accounting/Finance
Qualified accountant with extensive PQE in a financial reporting environment with either people management experience or relevant project management experience.
An in-depth understanding of accounting (US and UK GAAP)
Good people / team management experience
A keen interest in, and knowledge of technical accounting pronouncements including revenue recognition, pensions and leases
Understanding of core tax processes including VAT and Corporation Tax to support any tax accounting queries.
Demonstrates effective organisation and planning skills
Proactive approach and customer focus
Excellent inter personal skills, able to effectively communicate across all levels of the organisation including at the executive level
Strong ERP experience (preferably SAP)
Demonstrate strong leadership skills; effective team supervisor who actively manages and drives performance
Flexible and collaborative with strong team working skills
Able to set appropriate priorities and to organise efforts to meet required deadlines
Ability to function effectively in a team environment.
Able to travel as required to other Afton locations within the EMEAI region and USA for projects and training as required.
