Overview

NewMarket Corporation is seeking an experienced accountant to assist with SEC reporting including the accounting and consolidation of NewMarket’s global operations.  NewMarket Corporation is a leading manufacturer and marketer of performance enhancing fuel and lubricant additives with operations around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with SEC and FASB disclosure requirements
  • Assist in the development of detailed footnotes
  • Obtain and analyze appropriate data to develop detailed footnote supporting data
  • Assist in filing financial statements (10Q, 10K, 11K) and earnings releases (8K) with the SEC
  • Maintain certain SAP financial accounting modules
  • Design and prepare reports to meet various internal and external requirements
  • Perform account analyses
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of US GAAP
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SEC requirements
  • Complete special projects as assigned

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE MINIMUMS:

  • BS Degree in Accounting
  • CPA
  • 3 – 8 years relevant work experience
  • Experience with an ERP software accounting system

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

  • Experience with SAP ERP software
  • Experience with XBRL
  • Experience with WDesk software
  • Experience with accounting for a manufacturing concern
  • Experience with accounting for global operations including multiple currencies

  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • The ability to conceive and implement new ideas to achieve improved efficiency
  • Able to work overtime, as required
