Overview

Afton Chemical Corporation develops and manufactures:

  • Petroleum additives that help fuels burn cleaner and more efficiently, engines run smoother, and machines last longer.
  • Performance fuels and refinery additives such as gasoline performance additives, diesel fuel additives, lubricity improvers and cold flow improvers.
  • Driveline products such as automotive gear oil and automatic transmission fluids.
  • Engine oil additives for passenger cars, heavy-duty diesel engines, and railroad and marine diesel engines.
  • Industrial products such as anti-wear and R&O hydraulic oils, industrial specialty chemicals, industrial gear oils and grease.

We are looking for a Mechanical Reliability Engineer who can do the following: Lead and direct the maintenance department’s mechanical maintenance and reliability initiatives. Provide technical assistance to the maintenance department and be the maintenance liaison with plant engineering. Lead predictive and preventative maintenance programs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead maintenance safety and environmental compliance initiatives.
  • Lead predictive & preventative maintenance programs.
  • Provide maintenance support to the Sauget plant.
  • Maintain and improve mechanical systems, equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems.               
  • Direct and coordinate installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
  • Inspect maintenance installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design, equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
  • Utilize technical drawings, specifications of electrical and mechanical systems and components to ensure systems conform to standards.
  • Lead and direct specialty contractors. Act as liaison with engineers, operations, and others to discuss existing or potential reliability improvements.
  • Assist in developing capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (four year college or university)

ExperienceChemical Plant Manufacturing experience

  • 5 years minimum
  • Actual experience in the Maintenance Reliability role
  • Experience with rotating equipment design, function, and reliability
