Customer Technical Service (CTS) Group Leader

The role will be office based, in Bracknell.


We have an exciting role within our customer facing technical service team (CTS) to provide our customers with expert support to help meet their needs and Afton’s business goals. The role sits within the Industrial team which covers a wide range of applications from wind turbines to industrial gears. The role will also be responsible for leading a team of 4 ensuring continued high level of support to the customer, progression of projects and ensuring the teams development.


This is a great opportunity for an individual with a strong technical background who has had exposure to supervising and wants to develop further leading a team.  The role will give breadth of responsibility as there will be direct customer/ product line responsibilities, requirement to lead projects as well as manage and develop the team.


The candidate will need to have a strong technical background within the additive or related industry. Ideally the candidate will have experience in managing others and a strong desire to develop in this area.


  • Drive delivery of the regional Sales Plan through creative technical solutions and effective account management in conjunction with Sales and Marketing
  • Manage and motivate the Industrial CTS team, ensuring continuous development of technical knowledge and business acumen
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, internal Afton organization and CTS team members. 
  • Develop a deep understanding of Afton and Competitive additive offerings alongside market drivers to develop customer portfolio / product recommendations with compelling value propositions
  • Identify opportunities to extend the reach of existing products through claim extensions
  • Deliver business critical projects ensuring effective design, development and delivery.
  • Bring market insight to the long-range technology roadmap – ensuring we have a winning portfolio today and in the future
  • Resolve customer issues, requests and complaints in a timely, accurate and professional manner.
  • Travel to customers to promote Afton’s technical abilities, conduct presentations to aid sales force with customers.


  • Degree in Chemistry or related field
  • Demonstrated understanding of a technical, customer facing function ideally within the additive industry or related industry
  • Experience managing an individual or a team
  • Strong project management skills
