Marketing Manager – Commercial Vehicle (Asia Pacific)

Overview

In accordance with Afton’s Passion for Solution’s® implement strategy and marketing plans in Asia Pacific. This includes e-mobility hybrid and electric commercial vehicles. 

 

Assist in driving optimal profitability of the product group in the region, so as to achieve short term growth and long term business goals.

 

Be responsible for delivery of other projects as required to meet organisational objectives

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Successful development and implementation of a comprehensive marketing plan in the region
  • Be seen as the ‘champion’ for CV market segments and associated products within the region
  • Identify and clearly communicate Afton’s Passion For Solutions® and ‘Made In’ and Made For’ strategies and value proposition for the segments targeted.
  • Identify and communicate internally and externally trends impacting the market segments and sub-segments, and the potential for Afton and its target customers to create value
  • Assist to develop and publish competitive analysis for CV product lines
  • Assist in the implementation of our 5 year AP CV OEM strategy to deliver on our technology and marketing goals
  • Utilize market research, CTS, OEM liaison and supply chain resources to support the achievement of agreed business performance targets
  • Assists in development of the Annual Operating Plan, Long Range Plan & Afton long term Strategy and Planning (ASAP2) in the region

 

  • Maintain effective communication with other team members to ensure that direction is understood by all and the efforts are co-operative and complementary.

 

  • Maximize profitability and drive growth from existing CV products
  • Make pricing decisions for existing products which are sensitive to competitive change, market environment, value delivered by products and to customers, inventory levels, internal manufacturing and delivery capabilities all of which capture value and maintain the profitability of the product line.
  • Work with Pricing Manager to promote Value Based Pricing within the regional organisation.
  • Address bottom quartile business where price repositioning may be required.
  • Ensure that the Pricing policy, Deal Management process and guidelines are followed
  • Review Opportunity Management prospects and threats and ensure that all stakeholders are aligned with value propositions to achieve volume and profitability targets.

 

  • Assist to manage product portfolio in accordance with organisational supply chain capability in order to ensure cost effective business continuity and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain & communicate Commercially Available Products (CAPs) list & New Product Launches list.
  • Provide validation of demand plans within Regional and work with matrix stakeholders to ensure that customer satisfaction and operational efficiency goals are achieved.
  • Represent Afton at Industry Conferences and Forums as required.

 

  • Present business performance reviews as required & represent the Marketing team in corporate or regional activities or initiatives as required by Line Manager and Asia Pacific Marketing Director.

  • Ability to price Afton’s product and service offer at a level that delivers perceived value by the customer and what the market will sustain

  • Is familiar with the basic technical aspects of the product, can identify gaps in portfolio & marketplace.
  • Able to ensure that the current product portfolio is fit for purpose and aligned to the technical specification and industry's regulatory standards.
  • Recognises the importance of developing, launching and monitoring customer value propositions.
  • Understands product portfolio positioning and prioritises activities to maximise value

 

Effective Marketing Communication – Applying

  • Able to assist and support the development of marketing communication activities.
  • Able to execute Communication Plan

 

Identifying Market Insights –  Applying

  • Identify sources of marketing information and interpret it to develop insights to support both strategy development and Customer P4S collateral

 

Brand Management & Passion 4 Solutions (P4S) – Applying

  • Understands the 6Ps & how they work together and can apply them appropriately in context within Afton.
  • Recognises the importance of brand strategy and guidelines.

 

Product Management – Applying

Able to plan and execute the MOC initiatives. Can work closely and effectively with the product stewardship in terms of EHS compliance.
