This role works to protect the company’s network and proprietary and sensitive information. The analyst will maintain key tools, identify and correct potential issues and improve the overall security system.

Responsibilities

  • Execute Vulnerability Management program
    • Perform ongoing vulnerability assessments of various types.
    • Follow up with various enterprise and business teams to ensure patching is being done.
    • Identify vulnerabilities that are not being managed through the patching program; apply risk-based approach to evaluate and execute the correct mitigation/remediation strategy.
  • Perform proactive maintenance, upgrades and enhancements of security tools, including
    • Application Whitelisting
    • Incident handling and investigations
  • Collaboratively design, implement and maintain secure environments for self-contained networks supporting process control, lab instruments, etc.
    • Work to design baseline administration, often with Group Policies
    • Manage vulnerabilities as above

 

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE MINIMUMS:

  • 6 years of experience in Information Technology
  • Must include minimum 3 years in a role that is systems or security administration
  • 2-year degree (4 year degree preferred)
  • IT Vendor technical certifications or deep technical experience in IT systems.

 

*Candidates with an industry recognized security certification or degree are preferred.*

 

  • Key Skills:
    • Threat mitigation through varying technological implementations (firewalls, vulnerability management, Anti-Virus)
    • Understanding of networking concepts, including IP Addressing, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, NAT rules
    • Understanding of Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, and other IAM security concepts and best practices.
    • Experience with EDR technology 
  • Strong Knowledge is expected of:
    • Fundamental understanding of Cloud Architecture and Cloud Security best practices
    • Familiarity with security-specific console areas of Azure or others
    • Coding or scripting (PowerShell, VBScript, or Python)
  • Functional Knowledge preferred for:
    • VMWare, VDI and/or Application Virtualization design and implementation (Citrix, Microsoft RDS)
    • Microsoft Exchange and SQL Server
    • Security standards & frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001 and MITRE ATT&CK.
    • Network & web-based attacks and remediation, vulnerabilities and exploits.
    • Log ingestion platforms, Security Analytics and attack patterns.
  • Demonstrates a customer service orientation in direct execution and in leadership.
  • Demonstrate effective oral and written English communication skills.
  • Demonstrate Strong Decision Making and Leadership skills.
  • Must be adaptive, flexible and self-motivated.
