Overview

This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone to develop and grow within a technical department that has customer exposure/ commercial bias. 

 

The role will support on delivering innovative solutions for customers understanding their needs and providing technical advice. In addition the role will provide support to the team with external test scheduling to accelerate data generation and bring understanding of product performance to provide recommendations to customers.

 

This role is based in Bracknell, UK and is office based. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop a collaborative relationship with CTS, R&D, OEM, Sales, and Marketing to share and gain an understanding of current and future market trends, requirements and applications that will impact our product portfolio.
  • Integrate customers’ feedback on current technology to support development of future new product development.
  • Understand the Account Management Triangle (Sales, Marketing, CTS) and contribute to Customer Portfolio Analysis to bring insight.
  • Contribute to the management of projects with Afton stage gate process.
  • Increase customer loyalty by proactively investigating and resolving customer concerns.
  • Support the development of insightful technical literature for the product portfolio for both internal and external customers.
  • Develop understanding of Afton’s product line chemistry and claims.
  • Initiate development of a deep understanding of industry test requirements, customer test requirements and associated specifications and how those tests can be influenced by Afton chemistry.
  • Assist test coordinator in the completion of required approval documentation and technical reports.
  • Liaising with test houses, producing documentation and invoices required by using a range of systems (SAP, EARS, TestNET, etc.).

Qualifications

Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

Strong communication skills with either experience dealing with customers or the potential to proactively engage with customers and internal teams

Strong Microsoft Office skills and aptitude to learn systems quickly

Organised, proactive and able to challenge constructively

Ability to work with data and be detail orientated
