Overview

Afton Chemical supports global operations through its corporate headquarters in Richmond, Virginia, and operates globally through local offices, research facilities and manufacturing plants strategically located throughout the world.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preliminary engineering for process design engineers to support capital project scoping.
  • Perform cost estimations for project engineers to support capital project approval process.
  • Perform detailed design calculations and sizing as required for all capital project mechanical scope items.
  • Drawing review and approval for all fabricated equipment to ensure design meets all applicable industry and internal standards and code requirements.
  • Provide field oversight and technical support for contractors during construction and startup activities.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate and complete before uploading to various systems for documentation control.
  • Support on-site mechanical integrity group by reviewing, modifying, and approving all repair plans for fixed equipment and piping.
  • Provide technical support for a chemical manufacturing plant on an as needed basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Requires a 4 year engineering bachelor’s degree.
  • Prior industrial plant experience a must.
  • 3+ year’s industrial mechanical engineering experience.
  • In depth knowledge of ASME Section VIII, API 570, 650, 653 industry codes
  • Ability to work well in a team and individual environment.
