ABOUT US:

SUMMARY:

Plan, implement, and manage IT infrastructure globally to ensure internal departments are provided efficient service delivery within the context of the global IT strategy.

Responsibilities

  1. Global Administration and Maintenance of IT Server and SAN Infrastructure—maintain all servers and storage globally, utilizing the assistance of on-site IT resources.
  2. Linux Server Administration—Global ownership of Linux servers for the enterprise; maintain, patch, update, and provide server administration for all non-windows operating systems—Linux, CentOS, etc. Will include installing security tools on non-Windows OS servers, security hardening, etc.
  3. Server Builds—Global ownership of all server builds, to include Azure Servers, both Windows and Linux, and Windows and Linux Server builds in data centers located in Richmond and across the globe on various hypervisor platforms.
  4. IT Continuity – Global responsibility of all backup and recovery tasks using a variety of backup tools, to include Veeam, ARCServe, Tintri Replication.
  5. Virtualization – Global responsibility of all virtualization, to include VMware and HyperV. Perform daily operational tasks, as well as upgrades and enhancements to the environment for version upgrades and patching.
  6. Documentation – Record and manage all documents required to proper support of the infrastructure team, to include infrastructure monitoring, engineering, and continuity.
  7. Optimization – continued monitoring and management of infrastructure, utilizing monitoring tools to gauge performance, make recommendations on enhancements, and take action on operational issues as they arise.
  8. Troubleshooting – Ensure we have the tools and support required to rapidly resolve performance and availability issues.
  9. Maintenance, Process and Training – Ensure execution of policy, procedures and processes required to ensure patching/control and technical debt, and meet all needs listed above.   

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE MINIMUMS: 

  • Associates degree in CS, IT or similar field 
  • Four (4) years of Windows Administration Experience 
  • Two (2) years of Linux Administration
  • Two (2) years of SAN Administration

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 4-Year degree in CS, IT or a similar field 
  • Certification in Microsoft Technologies 
  • Certification/Experience in Cloud Technologies 

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES  

  • A proven track record of server infrastructure support
  • An in-depth understanding of server infrastructure and related technologies
  • Experience of working on multiple IT disciplines
  • Relevant Microsoft qualification path
  • Demonstrable problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels and across cultures/languages
  • Good organizational skills
  • Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Experience of different types of server/client hardware
