Overview

The Supply Planning Supervisor manages a team of Supply Planning Specialists & Coordinators responsible for raw material and production planning.  The role will be centered on the management of production unit schedules, inventory management of raw materials/components/finished goods, and cross functional communication and coordination at the site or to other stakeholders.  Additionally, it may be required to perform some tactical planning activity in support of the team.  The Supply Planning Supervisor will also provide oversight of the execution of duties of the Planning team, establish Goals and Objectives, coach and develop employees, and establish strong working relationships with other site functional leaders.  The Supply Planning Supervisor should ensure the best utilization of production assets and enable the execution of planning activities, so the right product is available for customers at the right time and in the right location

Responsibilities

  • Seek and interpret inputs from across the organization to build a raw material and production plan that will drive operational activity in line with the business objectives.
  • Support the team in developing requirement plans for plants and some tollers to ensure the plant is operating in line with Afton’s planned requirements.
  • Manage activities in the import and/or export of components, raw materials, or products to support the demand plan in other regions.
  • Manage inventory levels within target ranges for key materials and key locations. The aim is to have adequate material to maintain supply without increasing working capital costs to an unacceptable level.
  • Maintain understanding of short-term and long-term production capacity and constraints.
  •  Respond to changes in plan in a timely manner, with an ability to quantify the impact of these changes to the business team.
  • Collaborate cross functionally within the site, and other regions, to ensure coordination of shared global resources (such as plant capacity) and develop/share best practices.
  • Be aware of, and support where necessary, other Supply operations within the region to ensure that Planning activities are aligned with Manufacturing, Logistics and Procurement objectives.
  • Supervise, manage, and support activities of Supply Planning Coordinators/Specialists.
  • Support company quality and safety systems through day to day activities and via formal feedback mechanism

 

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE MINIMUMS:

           

  • Bachelor of Science in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration, etc. – or in-country equivalent as advised by regional HR team.
  • SAP competency in materials managements and supply planning typically acquired over 3 or more years of experience
  • English language ability (both written and spoken) is required. Further languages are advantageous

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

 

  • Experience leading a team of professionals with strong knowledge of supply chain structures and procedures, global supply network interactions, production planning, raw material planning, and inventory management activities preferably in the Chemical industry, typically acquired over 4 or more years of experience.
