Supports the health and well-being of Richmond and Ashland employees while providing liaison services to other US locations (Sauget, Houston & Cedar City) and Home Office employees. Typically works independently but is supported by part-time Physician/Medical Director.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage and direct Richmond Medical Department clinic services to include physical exams, treatment of illness & injury, counseling & referrals, ergonomics, gym access etc.
  • Disability case management in support of HR/Benefits FMLA/STD programs.
  • Manage OSHA hearing conservation program: Identify participants, ensure annual testing and training on hearing protection, identify standard threshold shift and collaborate with EHS to remediate environmental causes.
  • Manage drug testing program in support of HR policy: pre-employment and random testing for the Richmond & Houston locations.
  • Manage First Responder program (first aid) in conjunction with EHS (floor wardens) to identify and train participants.
  • Provide liaison services to Sauget, IL; Pasadena, TX; Port Arthur, TX; and Cedar City, UT as needed-generally includes lead-in-urine testing oversight, drug testing and medical treatment policies/protocols.
  • Manage Biohazard and Hazardous Drug disposal program (medical & pharma waste).
  • Provides case management for occupational injuries and illnesses to ensure employees receive appropriate care to minimize time away from work.
  • May perform other Medical Department duties as required.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE MINIMUMS:           

  • Registered Nurse- Bachelor of Science (BSN, BS-RN) with 5 years of experience in direct patient care environment (assessment, critical thinking, judgement, decision making, multi-tasking etc.)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

  • Previous Occupational health experience
  • COHN - Certified Occupational Health Nurse
  • BAT certification- breath alcohol technician
  • CAOHC – Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation

            SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and multi-task as needed.
  • Excellent assessment skills and ability to take a thorough medical history.
  • Effective communication skills: clear, concise and an attention to detail in all forms of communication.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities and adjust as needed
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills; demonstrates good judgment & decision making.
  • Trustworthy, dependable and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft windows applications.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with the Physician/Medical Director.
  • Flexibility with regards to schedule: managing off-hour sick calls for 24-hour operations.
