Strategic Marketing Manager - Adjacent Spaces

Responsibilities

  • Adjacent Spaces – Non-Petroleum Additives (blasting agents, solvent extractants, etc): Global new business development
    • Market identification: research alongside NBD team to identify potential markets of interest / fit.
    • Market audit - Work with NBD team to research and evaluate non-PA markets; market size, competitive landscape, growth projections etc, to make recommendations on paths to pursue.
    • Lead development of business case for entry into non-PA spaces
    • Customer facing - Contact potential clients to build relationships that broaden market intelligence and lead to sales opportunities
    • Develop insights to guide strategy based on publicly available information, purchased research, industry interviews (e.g. GLG), and reviewing internal history and knowledge
    • Attend conferences, meetings, and industry events to build knowledge of new markets
  • Adjacent spaces & components – petroleum additives (grease, components, shock absorber oils, etc)
    • Complete market analysis to size global market opportunity, fit with Afton, identify target customers, understand competitive product environment and develop sales and marketing plans to expand PA access to adjacent spaces
    • Work with strategic and regional marketing teams to develop adjacent space marketing initiatives to deliver growth plans
    • Work with R&D and business teams to build Components collateral for targeted customer
    • Support global marketing and business teams to drive activities to deliver growth plans.
    • Attend conferences, meetings, and industry events to build market knowledge

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:        

  • BA degree or qualification in Marketing, Business or related field
  • Strong, relevant work experience in a Marketing/Business environment
  • Proven record of success in a full mix B2B Marketing / Business Management role

  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to lead and influence internally and externally to achieve agreed objectives
  • Offers initiative to drive value in the areas where assigned champion
  • Use effective team working to ensure successful completion of projects
